Director Colin Tait achieves CARE Accreditation

We are thrilled to announce that Colin Tait, Director at Harley Haddow, is now a conservation accredited engineer and has joined the Conservation Accreditation Register for Engineers (CARE). This is a testament to his expertise and further strengthens our commitment to conservation and heritage projects.

Reflecting on this achievement, Colin said:

“I am delighted to announce that I’m now on the CARE register as a Conservation Accredited Engineer.

I’ve always been hugely interested in the conservation aspects of structural engineering – in fact, my PhD, many years ago now, looked at the durability mechanisms of masonry structures – but you couple this with the many historically sensitive projects that I’ve worked on here at Harley Haddow, and that as a company we’ve worked on as a whole, and our experience and track record is amazing. There’s been so many great projects and so many great conservation professionals to learn from and support.

I look forward to continuing this work and ensuring our older, historically sensitive buildings are treated with the care and respect they deserve.”

Colin’s accreditation reflects years of dedication to projects requiring such a high level of care and consideration. His expertise has been instrumental in delivering numerous historically sensitive projects across Scotland and beyond, preserving the legacy their heritage while ensuring these structures remain functional and sustainable for future generations.

Conservation and sustainability are integral to our approach at Harley Haddow and Colin’s achievement reinforces our ability to provide specialist knowledge and innovative solutions for heritage projects, ensuring that we treat every building with the respect and understanding it deserves.

Congratulations, Colin, on this well-deserved recognition!
